One of six instruments created exclusively for the Deviser One Day Guitar Show 2025 Winter, this MT-TOCHI WSE is a centrepiece of the "Red Collection" — Momose's exploration of Tochi wood in its most dramatic chromatic expression.

Tochi — Japan's Heirloom Wood

Tochigi walnut (Tochi) is one of the most revered tonewoods in Japanese lutherie. Prized for its shimmering figure and warm, complex resonance, a flame-topped Tochi body of this calibre is exceptionally rare outside of commissioned custom builds.

The Red Collection

Built around a deep crimson burst that fades into the raw Tochi grain, the finish dialogue between the painted top and the natural-blonde back is what defines this series. The burgundy burl pickguard — hand-signed in gold script — completes the palette.

Hardware & Electronics

GOTOH SD91-05M MG-T Magnum Lock tuners, Deviser's own DTB-1 bridge with brass saddles, and Momose's VT-1 single-coil — voiced for clarity and that distinctly Japanese Tele articulation.

One of only 15 instruments ever built in the Shidarezakura series — and the only one in existence with this particular top. The Shidarezakura, or weeping cherry blossom, is one of Japan's most beloved symbols of beauty and impermanence. Momose captured that spirit in wood.

Shidarezakura — The Weeping Cherry

The Shidarezakura body top is sourced from wood that mirrors the cascading, painterly quality of Japan's most iconic flowering tree. No two tops are alike — this one's figure is uniquely its own, making it the only instrument of its kind in the world.

Momose Craftsmanship

Built at Deviser's Nagano workshop to Momose's exacting standards: ebony fingerboard, oiled bone nut, Jescar 9662NS frets, and the VT-1 single-coil pickup that defines the Momose Telecaster voice — clear, articulate, and unmistakably Japanese.

Between 1999 and 2004, Navigator's Custom Shop was producing the finest Les Paul-style instruments ever made in Japan. The N-LP 380 LTD was at the very top of that mountain — and this 2002 example in Honey Burst is exactly what serious collectors have been hunting for.

The Golden Era

The 1999–2004 window for Navigator LTD models is widely regarded as the pinnacle of Japanese Les Paul construction. Tighter tolerances, better wood selection, and more hours of hand finishing than any production guitar of the era. Values have been rising steadily as players and collectors catch on — and they're not coming back down.

Seymour Duncan Seth Lovers

The Seth Lover humbucker was designed by Seth Lover himself — the man who invented the humbucker at Gibson in 1955. The Seth Lovers are his final statement on what a PAF should sound like: warm, open, and complex, with that unmistakable 50s bloom. Finding them in a Navigator LTD is as good as it gets.

Honey Burst

The Honey Burst finish on a flame maple top is one of the most visually stunning combinations in guitar making — amber and gold fading through the flame figure in a way that changes in every light. This one is exceptional.

DiMarzio Double Cream PAFs

The Double Cream PAF is DiMarzio's reverent recreation of the original Patent Applied For humbucker — the pickup that defined the sound of rock and roll. Wound to vintage spec with scatter-wound coils and aged nickel covers, they bring out every nuance the Navigator's mahogany and maple have to offer. Warm, singing, and impossibly alive.
